I'm writing this post at what would have been the end of the 2014/2015 Fall/Winter season. I didn't play fall soccer this year and looking back I'm so thankful that God saw fit to keep me off the field this year. I was supposed to play for the Aldergrove United Classics Div 1 team this year, it would have been a great team and in September I was disappointed that I wasn't on the field. Instead I was on the injured list, it was a nothing injury, something so trivial that I should have been able to play through. But God wanted me available for Him this year, so off the field I was. (Thank you Jesus)
He really does work in the most amazing ways. J.S. felt called to reform the Women's group at AAC, she felt that God wanted it to be more than just a mom's morning out type of group, that He was calling her to lead a bible study, and that it should be called Women's Care Group, no mention of moms or mornings out at all.
Everything that could go wrong that first morning did. I didn't shower at home, I was going to shower at Dad and Mom's I had to drop Caddie off there anyway and their hot water tank is bigger. Half way there my car broke down - fan belt shredded - now I'm going to miss the first day. Poor Caddie hasn't had the chance to pee, I'm in my PJs and the only person I know that might be going is K.B. I'm not even sure because I didn't ask her, not wanting to talk myself out of it if she wasn't going. And it's raining so now I have a wet dog. Perfect!
I called David, can he come and rescue us and take us to Dad and Mom's? I took Caddie for a walk while waiting for rescue. At least I have dog bags, still in my PJs though. David drops us off and I put Caddie outside and jump in the shower, fastest shower of my life, find clean clothes and jump in A.J.'s truck. He was out of town but left the keys in case we needed to use it and I did. Got to church at 930 which fortunately is early for our group.
What an awesome group, I've made so many new friendships. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to connect with the other women at AAC and pray that the Lord with continue to help me grow in faith and friendship.
