Prayer - Lois Wilson

The Lord took Lois home to be with him yesterday (January 8th).

Lord, I am grateful for the part she played in my life as a bible study leader and a woman who loved the Lord and modeled biblical womanhood. As a bible study leader she was insightful and knowledgeable, gracious with those who weren't prepared or who disagreed with her thoughts. And most piercing was her willingness to be brutally honest about where she was in her life, her sins and struggles past and present, and her relationship with God.

Thank you Lord that Lois' struggle and suffering is over, that she is safe in heaven and in the presence of her beloved God.  Thank you for the hope we have in you in life and in death, that we belong to you both in life and in death. (Romans 14:7-8).

Lord I lift up the Wilson family today, Lord be with them, may they be enveloped by your comfort and your peace (Matthew 5:4). Remind them of your promises in Revelation 21:1-4, that one day there will be no more death or mourning and that Lois will be reunited with them on that day if not before. Lord, guide Lois' family as they figure out how to go from here, how to rebuild lives without her.

Lord I pray also for our staff at AAC, thank you for your providence in Lois' medical leave to prepare our church leadership to run the office without her, lead them through this transition. Help them to guide the Wilson family and the AAC family through the process of mourning for Lois and then rejoicing that Lois has reached her homeland in you.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." - Matthew 5:4

"For none of us lives to himself and none of us dies to himself. For is we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's". - Romans 14:7-8

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with the as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."" - Revelation 21:1-4
