Hello BlogWorld

I've considered for several months now starting a blog and have talked myself into and out of blogging several times.  I've long enjoyed the blogs of several other Christians I admire, some of whom are stay-at-home daughters learning from their mothers how to be keepers of their homes.  I commend these ladies and encourage them to enjoy this opportunity to learn to manage a home without the often overwhelming and distracting rigors of work or school.  Others are stay-at-home wives who are using their practical homemaking skills to create their homes as a sanctuary for their husbands.

I finally surrendered the desire to blog to the Lord, asking that he lead me according to His will.  It's a sign of my human failings that I've debate the issue back and forth for months without coming to a decision and within 2 days of laying a blog at the Lord's feet, I have a name for my blog and am writing my first post.  Our God is an awesome God!  Lord, I surrender my Journey to Homemaking to you.  I pray you would use it to further your Kingdom and through it you would change the life of even one person.

Now for a little bit about me, I'm 25 years old, have a job as an executive assistant working for a company called FireFit, they run a fitness competition for firefighters with events all across Canada and I work in the office doing to the necessary paper work.  I live at home with my family; Mom, Dad and my 2 younger brothers David (24) and A.J. (22) my younger sister Sam (21) has moved out and lives in an apartment nearby with my nephew Zorro the Chihuahua, I miss them.

I am committed to learning about and practicing becoming a homemaker, I'm sure I'll expand about how this started in a later post but for now, I believe homemaker is the priority and purpose God has called all women to embrace.  I'm preparing myself during this season of my life to be a homemaker and to value and care for my home so that when God leads me to marriage I will be ready to assume my role as helpmeet to my husband and I will honour the Lord by being a good thing my husband has found. (Proverbs 18:22)

A wife of A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. (Proverbs 31:10)
